New El Marg (المرج الجديدة) is the northern terminus of Line 1, at the very edge of Cairo’s urban sprawl. It’s a newer residential extension of the older El Marg district just south, and the station mostly serves commuters making the long ride into the city center for work.

Being the end of the line, it’s also a reliable spot to guarantee a seat before the train fills up heading south.

تُعد محطة المرج الجديدة المحطة الطرفية الشمالية للخط الأول، عند أقصى امتداد القاهرة العمراني. وهي امتداد سكني أحدث لحي المرج القديم الواقع جنوبها مباشرة، وتخدم المحطة بشكل أساسي الركاب الذين يقطعون مسافة طويلة للوصول إلى وسط المدينة للعمل.

وباعتبارها نهاية الخط، فهي أيضًا مكان موثوق لضمان الحصول على مقعد قبل أن يمتلئ القطار متجهًا جنوبًا.
