El Demerdash (الدمرداش) on Line 1 is best known for the Ain Shams University Hospitals complex right next to it, commonly called El Demerdash Hospital, one of Egypt’s largest public teaching hospitals. A steady stream of patients, medical staff, and students moves through this station every day.

It’s an above-ground station, which makes it noticeably busier and more exposed than the underground stops further south.

تشتهر محطة الدمرداش على الخط الأول بمجمع مستشفيات جامعة عين شمس المجاور لها مباشرة، والمعروف باسم مستشفى الدمرداش، أحد أكبر المستشفيات التعليمية الحكومية في مصر. ويتدفق عبر هذه المحطة يوميًا عدد كبير من المرضى والطاقم الطبي والطلاب.

وهي محطة سطحية، ما يجعلها أكثر ازدحامًا وانكشافًا بشكل ملحوظ مقارنة بالمحطات تحت الأرض في الجنوب.
